Alfa Romeo has kicked off 2025 on a powerful note, closing the first quarter with an impressive 29% increase in global deliveries year-on-year. The resurgent performance marks a bold statement of intent for the iconic Italian marque as it continues to gain momentum in its international expansion, now spanning more than 70 global markets.

The standout figure in this rally is the Alfa Romeo Junior — a compact crossover with style, substance, and strategy. Since its launch, the Junior has garnered more than 36,000 orders across 38 markets, with 18% of those opting for the full-electric version. The model has emerged not only as a commercial success but also as a pivotal force in Alfa Romeo’s evolving line-up, reflecting the brand’s deepening commitment to electrification and innovation.

Leading the Charge in Key Markets

Alfa Romeo’s success in Q1 was underpinned by remarkable regional performances. In Enlarged Europe, deliveries surged by 43%, a sign of the brand’s strengthened competitiveness and appeal in the continent’s mature markets. The Middle East and Africa also posted solid gains of 9%, contributing to the global uplift and reinforcing the brand’s ability to resonate across diverse automotive landscapes.

March 2025 stood out as the strongest sales month since June 2019, with over 8,700 vehicles sold — a 33% increase year-on-year. This surge enabled Alfa Romeo to claim its highest European market share in seven years, reaching 0.5% in the EU30 region. Notably, this growth is not a one-model phenomenon; it stems from the collective performance of the entire line-up — Junior, Tonale, Stelvio, and Giulia — each continuing to express the brand’s signature blend of sportiness, design, and innovation.

Junior: The Face of a New Era

Offered in a diverse range of powertrains, the Junior’s appeal lies in its versatility. Customers can choose from two electric variants (156-hp and 280-hp), a 145-hp hybrid, and the newly unveiled Junior Ibrida Q4 — the latter completing the broadest product offering in its segment. This strategic spread ensures the Junior meets the needs of drivers navigating the shift towards electrified mobility, without compromising on the Alfa Romeo driving experience.

The recent introduction of the INTENSA special series further reinforces the Junior’s emotional appeal. With unique design flourishes that honour Alfa Romeo’s storied heritage and forward-looking spirit, INTENSA encapsulates the passion that has long defined the brand.

A Confident Future

Alfa Romeo CEO Santo Ficili summed up the optimism felt throughout the organisation:

“The first quarter of 2025 ended with very positive commercial results, a testament to the great enthusiasm and determination with which the Alfa Romeo team faces the continuous evolution of the automotive sector. Great credit to the Junior, welcomed with extreme enthusiasm. With 35,000 orders since launch, it is kicking off the brand’s future, with the new Stelvio and new Giulia about to write yet another chapter in the history of Made in Italy.”

He also acknowledged the crucial role of Alfa Romeo’s dealer network and partners in achieving these results, pointing to their commitment as foundational to the brand’s upward trajectory.

With a revitalised line-up, a strong foothold in strategic markets, and a rising star in the Junior, Alfa Romeo enters the remainder of 2025 with renewed confidence and momentum. As the brand prepares to usher in updated versions of the Stelvio and Giulia, the message is clear: Alfa Romeo is not just back — it’s racing ahead.
