Kia has unveiled the EV2, a European-built, B-segment electric SUV designed to bring accessible, advanced electric mobility to a broader audience. Combining bold design, cutting-edge technology, and practical versatility, the EV2 represents Kia’s most compact entry into its expanding EV line-up.
Following the success of models like the EV6, EV9, EV3, and EV4, the EV2 builds on Kia’s electric expertise while targeting Europe’s second-largest automotive segment. With its launch, Kia aims to make electric driving a seamless part of daily life, offering an ideal solution for households seeking a stylish yet practical EV.
Design that stands out
The EV2 embraces Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, featuring upright styling cues inspired by the brand’s larger SUVs. At around four metres in length, it balances a compact footprint with strong proportions suited for urban environments. Distinctive elements like vertical daytime running lights, the Star Map Light Signature, and pronounced wheel arches lend the EV2 a confident stance, while wheel options ranging from 16- to 19-inch and a variety of exterior finishes allow owners to personalise their vehicle.
The lifestyle-oriented ‘GT-Line’ variant adds bold body-coloured trims and high-gloss accents for a premium, adventure-ready appearance.
Interior comfort and usability
Inside, the EV2 introduces Kia’s “Picnic Box” cabin concept, blending logic and emotion through intuitive design and fabric-rich materials. A wraparound dashboard enhances spaciousness, while Kia’s triple-screen ccNC infotainment system integrates a 12.3-inch driver cluster, a 5.3-inch climate screen, and a 12.3-inch central touchscreen. For cost-conscious buyers, the ccNC Lite system offers the same layout and core features at a lower price. Both systems support OTA updates and Kia Upgrades, keeping the EV2 future-ready.
The rear seating system maximises practicality, with sliding and reclining rear seats extending legroom up to 958 millimetres. Cargo space reaches 403 litres in the boot, complemented by a 15-litre frunk. Whether configured as a four- or five-seater, the EV2 offers headroom up to 973 millimetres, delivering comfort that belies its compact exterior.

Confident, flexible electric performance
The EV2 offers two battery options: a 42.2kWh standard-range battery and a 61.0kWh long-range battery, delivering anticipated WLTP ranges of up to 317 and 448 kilometres, respectively. Both feature rapid DC fast charging, completing in under 30 minutes, and support 11kW and 22kW AC charging for greater flexibility at home or on public networks.
Connectivity features include an integrated EV Route Planner, Kia Charge, Plug & Charge functionality, and bidirectional charging (V2L and V2G), allowing the EV2 to power devices or feed energy back into the grid.
Advanced technology and safety
The EV2 brings upper-segment technology to the B-SUV class. Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) include Highway Driving Assist 2, Front Collision Avoidance Assist 2.0, Smart Cruise Control 2, Blind-spot View Monitor, Surround View Monitor, and Remote Smart Parking Assist Entry. Digital convenience is enhanced through full Kia App integration, Digital Key, OTA updates, and Features on Demand, while an optional Harman/Kardon eight-speaker system completes the premium in-car experience.
Sustainability and European production
Kia’s commitment to responsible mobility is evident in the EV2’s use of sustainable materials, including bio-based plastics, BTX-free paint, bio-PU seat upholstery, and carpets made from recycled PET sourced from fishing nets. Produced at Kia’s Žilina plant in Slovakia, the EV2 supports European jobs and shorter transport routes, reflecting a market-focused, sustainable approach to EV production.
Production begins in February 2026 for the standard-range model, with long-range and GT-Line variants following in June. The EV2 is set to redefine the compact SUV segment in Europe, making electric driving more accessible, practical, and enjoyable than ever.
