Mazda has taken a decisive leap into the electric era with the unveiling of the all-new CX-6e at the Brussels Motor Show. Arriving in the UK late 2026, this mid-sized electric SUV complements the Mazda6e, which goes on sale this summer, marking a bold expansion of Mazda’s battery-electric portfolio.
A Fusion of Style, Performance, and Technology
The CX-6e embodies Mazda’s commitment to “human-centric” design, blending sculptural elegance with cutting-edge technology. At its heart lies a 78kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery powering a rear-mounted motor that delivers 258PS and 290Nm of torque. This combination ensures the signature Jinba Ittai driving experience with linear acceleration, responsive handling, and rear-wheel-drive dynamics. Capable of reaching 62mph in 7.9 seconds and a top speed of 115mph, the CX-6e offers both performance and poise.
With a WLTP range of up to 300 miles and rapid DC charging of up to 195kW, drivers can recharge from 10-80% in just 24 minutes. Home charging is equally convenient, with 11kW three-phase AC via Type 2 connectors.
A Smart Cockpit for the Electric Age
Inside, the CX-6e redefines the in-cabin experience. A 26-inch touchscreen forms the centerpiece of a smart cockpit, featuring a customisable dual-split layout for seamless access to navigation, media, and vehicle information. Complemented by a head-up display and gesture control, the CX-6e keeps drivers informed without distraction.
Multilingual voice recognition allows natural interaction with the car, adjusting climate, navigation, or entertainment effortlessly. Connectivity is enhanced with Wireless CarPlay, Android Auto, and a dedicated app that offers remote-control features such as Bluetooth key sharing and battery management.
Safety and Confidence at Every Turn
Mazda continues its tradition of prioritising safety. The CX-6e comes equipped with nine airbags and an array of high-definition cameras, millimetre-wave radar, and ultrasonic sensors. Its advanced driver-assistance suite—including Smart Brake Support, Lane Keeping Assist, and Blind Spot Monitoring—provides reassurance for every journey.

Striking Design Meets Practical Functionality
The CX-6e elevates Mazda’s Kodo – Soul of Motion design into the electric era. Its Soulful Futuristic Modern theme highlights sculptural surfaces, extended wheelbase, and short overhangs, offering both elegance and practicality. The 468-litre boot expands to 1,434 litres with the rear seats folded, while seven exterior colours—including the dramatic Nightfall Violet—allow for personalised expression.
Inside, the cabin is inspired by the Japanese concept of Ma, the beauty of empty space, delivering generous head, leg, and shoulder room. Interior trims include Warm Beige or Black Maztex in Takumi models and a two-tone Amethyst and White Maztex in Takumi Plus editions.
Electrification with a Human Touch
“The all-new Mazda CX-6e brings our human-centric approach into the electric era, combining great design, driving enjoyment, and advanced technology for European customers,” said Martijn ten Brink, President and CEO, Mazda Motor Europe. “Alongside the Mazda6e, it accelerates our electrification strategy while supporting our broader ambition to reduce CO₂ emissions.”
At Brussels, Mazda also showcased the all-new CX-5, featuring refreshed Kodo Design and a striking new body colour, Navy Blue, inspired by indigo experiments at Mazda’s European R&D Centre. The CX-5 is set to reach UK showrooms this summer.
With the CX-6e, Mazda positions itself as a bold player in the EV mid-size SUV segment, seamlessly blending performance, elegance, and technology, and offering European drivers a truly compelling electric alternative.
